HORACE W. GRAYS & CHARLES E. GRAYS SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Horace W. Grays & Charles E. Grays Scholarship Endowment has been established by the Grays Family through Education and Charities Foundation of Houston (ECFOH) to honor the history and legacy of these men; husband, father, uncle and Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. This scholarship rewards students for their life-long community service commitments; recognizes students who have demonstrated a commitment to community service and promotes their growth as community leaders.

Houston (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc. Scholarship 1,2

The Houston (TX) Alumni Scholarship provided through the Education and Charities Foundation of Houston (ECFOH), was created to promote and encourage post-high school education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

This award aims to reward students whose dedication and academic achievements are reflective of those qualities necessary to achieve in college and beyond.

This is a 4-year award and students receiving this award must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to remain qualified for this award. If the GPA drops below 3.0 recipient has one semester to re-establish eligibility or forfeit all remaining disbursements.

This award will be made in 2 disbursements annually in the Fall and Spring semesters.

The Education and Charities Foundation of Houston (ECFOH) is proud to offer financial assistance to graduating high school seniors and continuing undergraduate students with a financial need attending a 4-year accredited college or University.

This scholarship is available to all students with declared or undeclared majors.

Selected scholarships applicants will receive a one-year scholarship of $1,000 for the academic school year.

Full award will be disbursed at the beginning of the Fall semester.

KATIEMAE FARMS SCHOLARSHIP 1,3

The recipient of this scholarship, the “Harding Scholar” must enroll and major in a STEM curriculum or a Trade Program leading to an applied Trade Profession (e.g., Radiation Therapist, Dental Hygienist, Electrician, Geological and Petroleum Technician, Plumber, HVAC Technician, Automotive Technician, Physical Therapy Assistant, etc.)

This scholarship is open to graduating seniors and continuing undergraduates. This is a 4-year award and students receiving this award must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to remain qualified for this award. If the GPA drops below 3.0 recipient has one semester to re-establish eligibility or forfeit all remaining disbursements.

LEONARD J. COLEMAN KAPPA LEAGUE ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP1,2,3

Leonard J. Coleman, a Brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, and member of the Houston (TX) Alumni Chapter (HAC) has established this scholarship for African-American young men in need to achieve their academic and professional goals.

This scholarship is open to graduating African-American H.S. Seniors who have completed the HAC Kappa League Program and pursuing either a 4-year degree from an accredited college or Unitversity or Trade certification.

Selected scholarship applicants will receive a one-year scholarship of $1,500 for the academic school year. Full award will be disbursed at the beginning of the Fall semester.

The Senior Kappas of the Houston (TX) Alumni Chapter (HAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is providing a scholarship for graduating H.S. Seniors who have participated in the HAC GuideRight Program seeking a degree from an accredited 4-year college or university.

The selected scholarship applicant will receive a one-year scholarship of $2,500 for the upcoming academic school year. Full award will be disbursed at the beginning of the Fall semester.

Scholarship awardees will be selected by May 15th

By applying for an ECFOH Scholarship you agree to the following:

  1. I understand that if all required information is not submitted by the requested date my application will be considered incomplete and not considered.
  2. If chosen as a scholarship winner my picture may be used by ECFOH at their scholarship award banquet and in marketing materials.
  3. If chosen as a scholarship winner, in accordance with the ECFOH Scholarship policy, it is my responsibility to remit to ECFOH the appropriate information for my scholarship to be paid


1 Children of members of the Board of Directors of the Education and Charities Foundation of Houston (ECFOH) are not eligible for consideration of any scholarship distributed by the ECFOH.

2 Children  of members and initiates of the Houston (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. are not eligible for consideration.
